VISUAL ARTS STANDARDS
GMS ART GRADING POLICY
*All work is graded on a total point system.
*Classwork may be made up at home and turned in before the end of the marking period. Sketchbook assignments are graded when due and for 50% credit afterwards.
*FULL YEAR ART ONLY Sketchbook assignments are given due dates. They will be a total of 10pts each. These are to help you grow as an artist and practice developing skills. They are to be done at home. Only the best quality sketches will receive the full points. Sketchbook assignments are graded when due and for 50% credit afterwards. Criteria for sketchbooks should be attached to the back of students sketchbook.
*Daily warm ups are to be completed and are worth 10 points each. Each should be dated/numbered for full credit. If a student misses a warm-up due to absence, they are to go to my website or get it from a fellow student the following day.
*Participation: Each student will start each quarter with 100 points, and will keep those points as long as all classroom rules and directions are followed and participates in all assigned activities. Points will be lost if sketchbook is left at home or in locker, so please remember to keep them in your RA binder pocket.
*Art assignments will be graded on a point scale, with the final projects having the highest point value (100pts) Sketches and planning worth 10-20pts
*Grading Scale (based on 100 pts final project)
>Advanced 96-100 pts Far exceeds criteria, shows exceptional thought,
superior skill, and continuous effort INCREDIBLE!!
>Excellent 90-95 pts Meets criteria and show significant thought, skill, and effort FANTASTIC!!!
>Very Good 86-89pts Meets most of the criteria shows considerable skill and effort.
>Good 80-85 pts Meets most of the criteria and shows some effort
>Needs improvement 70-79 pts Meets few criteria or shows little skill of effort
>Unacceptable under 70pts Has not met criteria and shows no effort
*Quizzes and written assignments will be graded on total points and be worth no more than 50 pts.
